You don’t have to use it, but the in-built scheduler allows you to plan the different stages in a job.  You can choose one or a selection of jobs – say for a particular press – and make sure that they are correctly sequenced to arrive one at a time for printing.  You can improve your throughput by reducing bottlenecks and slack time.
