Version 4

FEB 2008

We’re pleased to say that version 4 has finally arrived.  Our users have helping us do exhaustive testing of the system since October.  Some have liked the results so much that they’ve jumped the gun and have gone live already!   Version 4.0 is now well and truly LIVE.   It’s extremely futuristic in approach, and even includes automatic updates.  If you are on version 3, or even version 2 (the old Dos system) then get in touch. We can upgrade you without any loss of data, and that’s fairly unique in this industry!

Coming soon...

FEB 2008

Version 4.1, which will include on-line integration with Printprices.com for contract pricing, progress chasing, re-orders and finished stock for your customers will be with you in a matter of days.  Current version 4 users will be automatically upgraded.

Version 4.2 is already in testing.  This brings with it all the remaining functionality of 3.5 and a whole lot more, including job costing, shop floor data capture, purchase order processing, and stock control.  Watch this space...

Version 4

SEPTEMBER 2007

In 2006 we had a very serious setback to our development when Microsoft revealed the full details of the way the new Windows Vista would work with new 64 bit computers.  What it meant in practice was that we had to throw away several years’ worth of development and start again.  We’ve now nearly completed a full re-write using the latest technology.  The new system is completely future-proof and works in either 32 bit or 64 bit computers running Vista, XP, W2000, Me, W98.  Data storage uses SQL Server and will be extended to offer other databases in due course.  There is a full upgrade path from version 3 to version 4 : no data will be lost.

The new Printpak desktop allows at-a-glance review of all your records, manipulation of multiple jobs simultaneously (e.g. for deliveries etc.),  the ability to switch from part to part seamlessly within the calculation of a job.  A salesman table automatically records performance details. Forms are handled with a new and powerful integrated forms generator, and a visual production scheduler is included.  The whole look and feel of version 4 is up-to-the-minute, and the controls are both simple and very powerful.

Version 4 will be released in 2 stages.  Version 4.0  will include  estimating, workflow and invoicing, with all supporting functions and forms. Version 4.1 adds job costing, shop floor data, stock control, purchase order processing, material catalogues and fully replaces all version 3 functionality.

We are now about to release the Beta version of 4.0,  following which we will be slowly rolling it out to users.
